To celebrate this distinct slice of Americana, The Awesome Fest is proud to announce the creation of their very own drive-in, presented by Enterprise CarShare, at one of the most unique and beautiful settings that Philadelphia has to offer: Eakins Oval, which resides directly in front of the majestic Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Philadelphia, PA – On Friday, September 13th, The Awesome Fest will take over Adventureland Day Camp in Bensalem for the 1st ever Summer Camp Sleepover, an overnight horror film festival outdoors in the woods! From Dusk ‘til dawn, The Awesome Fest will screen 6 movies while offering the usual summer camp activities as well as fishing, rock-climbing, campfires, food trucks, horror themed vendors, marshmallow roasts, scary stories, as well as many surprises! “Campers” are even encouraged to BYOB and BYOT (bring your own tent)!

Join us for this two part event as we celebrate the theatrical release of THE WORLD'S END, the third film in what's bound to be one of the most AWESOME trilogies of all time! On Wednesday, July 24th at 9pm, we'll be screening SHAUN OF THE DEAD outdoors at EAKIN'S OVAL, directly in front of The Art Museum on the Ben Franklin Parkway. This is a FREE screening! On Tuesday, July 30th, join us for a very special double feature of HOT FUZZ & an advanced screening of THE WORLD'S END with a Q&A to follow with Director Edgar Wright and actors Simon Pegg & Nick Frost!!

The Festival will include over 50 events, featuring 30 outdoor movies, special guests, anniversary screenings, an ‘80’s style prom, and popular musicians from the decade. In keeping with the festival tradition, the majority of the events and all outdoor screenings are presented free of charge.

Every Saturday at nightfall throughout the summer, The Awesome Fest will be presenting independent features straight out of major festivals including Sundance and SXSW.

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) June 12th, 2012 – Beginning Thursday June 28th and running weekly through August 30th, The Awesome Fest will celebrate the 1980’s with “The Awesome 80’s on The Awesome Screen”. Each week The Awesome Fest will celebrate one film from each year of the 1980’s, kicking off with THE BLUES BROTHERS (1980). All screenings (on the new 30 foot screen) begin at sundown, and admission for every event is completely free.

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) May 10, 2012 – In celebration of Adam Yauch and his iconic contributions to life, music, and independent film, The Awesome Fest & Trocadero Theatre are honored to host a screening of the Beastie Boys concert film, AWESOME; I FUCKIN' SHOT THAT!, on Thursday, May 17th at The Trocadero Theatre. This a Free, 21+ event with a suggested charitable donation of $5 to an as-yet-to-be-determined benefit of the Yauch family's choosing. Doors open at 7pm, with the film beginning at 8. The event is general admission with limited seating available. In addition to the screening, there will be a DJ spinning old skool hip-hop before the film, and an anthology of Beastie Boys videos, to follow shortly after the screening.
